As an actor / playwright ,he was the recipient of the 1996 GLAAD awards for his internationally acclaimed production of Salam Shalom A Tale Of Passion . As a dancer, He has developed his own dancing style which incorporates;belly dancing,gypsy movements,flamenco, and jazz all blended to produce what he calls free style belly dancing. He also promotes club La Zeez and 1001 Arabian Nites ,billed as America's first Gay Middle Eastern dance clubs here in Los Angeles

As a playwright/actor Saleem is known to write about experiences of Arab Americans living in the US, and being among the very few openly gay Arab American Artists, he always communicates that in a very tasteful and provocative way in his work and performances.

Will present the issues concerning the Arab American community after September 11th. His acclaimed production of << Salam Shalom A Tale Of Passion >> that deals with a gay love story between an Arab man and a Jewish man based on his own biography is being developed to a screenplay.
